World Vision

Bradford began working with World Vision in 2016 to improve community health and hygiene conditions worldwide. Our initial efforts focused on shipping bar soap to communities recovering from natural disasters, including hurricanes and earthquakes. We have since expanded the program to include 400,000 lbs of soap base shipped annually to Somalia, Zambia, and Burundi (approximately 1.6 million bars).

The women's groups in these communities reform the soap into bars. They use the soap for their families and sell the balance locally to help supplement their income. It has created stronger connections between the women, and there has been a noticeable decrease in disease and illness where the soap is distributed. Doctors who visit the communities now have shorter lines at the health clinics, enabling them to visit more communities. The donations have created a ripple effect that empowers women, improves income, and contributes to improved health and hygiene.

These women formed the Savings Group in Zambia. They use the soap to create bars and generate income for themselves and their families.

It is hard to imagine the impact our soap donations have had in these women's lives. We are blessed to be part of their journey.

The soap is melted and poured into molds to form it into bars.

Cut soap waiting for distribution.

World Vision gave Bradford an award for our donations to Somalia.
